It was during the Victorian era that the nation’s fondness for conservatories flourished. This was due to the Victorians’ love for foliage and exotic plants, which necessitated a means of preserving the plants during the cold winter months. In the 19th century, Victorian conservatory styles were developed with increasingly intricate details to complement the architectural style of the period homes.

The Victorian conservatory style typically features a bay front, a steeply pitched roof, and elaborate ridge details. There are two variations of the Victorian style: the three-facet Victorian and the five-facet Victorian. The three-facet Victorian conservatory includes a bay front with three main windows positioned at wide angles. On the other hand, the five-facet Victorian conservatory also has a bay front but with five main windows, offering more space and enhanced aesthetics.
